Why September 2026 is Perfect for Paris
My last trip to Paris was in September, and it’s easily my favourite time to visit. On September 18, 2026, Ottawa will likely be experiencing a chilly 13°C, but Paris is forecast to be a delightful 26°C with some charming overcast clouds. This mid-September window means fewer crowds than the summer peak and pleasant weather for exploring all the city has to offer without the intense summer heat. It’s the sweet spot.
Where to Stay: Marais Charm
For an authentic Parisian experience, consider staying in Le Marais. This historic district boasts beautiful architecture, chic boutiques, and a lively atmosphere. A comfortable hotel or a charming Airbnb in Le Marais can typically range from $150 to $250 USD per night for this period. It offers easy access to many attractions and a real taste of local life. I found a lovely spot near Place des Vosges last time that was perfect.
Eating Your Way Through Paris & Practical Tips
Paris is a culinary dream. Indulge in a classic Croque Monsieur for around $15 USD or a decadent pain au chocolat from a local boulangerie for about $4 USD. Most establishments accept both cash and card, but having some Euros on hand for smaller cafes or markets is always a good idea. For staying connected, consider a local SIM card upon arrival or check your Canadian provider's roaming plans beforehand. Navigating Paris is a breeze with its extensive Métro system; a weekly pass is very affordable and efficient.
